The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a celebration of the 14th anniversary by holding an online seminar through the ZOOM platform with the theme “Peran Farmasis dalam Pengembangan Obat dan Membangun Inovasi Riset ditengah Pandemi Covid 19” by presenting 2 speakers, namely apt. Butet Manurung, S.Si., M.Kes and apt. Ermasyah Siregar, S.Si. (08/08/2020),
The webinar event, which was attended by more than 700 online participants, was the culmination of a series of activities that had been carried out previously such as community service activities, the national student competition 'Pharmacy National Competition' with the theme BISA: “Be Inspiring, Smart and Active during the Pandemic” and the sub-theme 'Peran Generasi Muda dalam Penanganan Covid-19’ which was attended by students of the USU Faculty of Health and other universities from various cities in Indonesia.

In his report, the Dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Apt. Masfria, MS, conveyed various developments and achievements that have been achieved by the entire academic community of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy until 2020, both by teaching staff, researchers, and students. Not to forget, the dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy also gave appreciation to the academic community, alumni, and students who have supported all activities and have worked hard even during the Covid-19 pandemic to carry out the 14th Anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara very well.
The USU Rector in his speech congratulated the Faculty of Pharmacy and hoped that this faculty could improve its achievements and support the work program of the Universitas Sumatera Utara in achieving World QS Ranking accreditation. The Rector stated that he and all university leaders will continue to support the Faculty of Pharmacy in developing itself.
apt. Embun Suci Nasution, SSi., M.Farm.Klin. as the head of the 14th Anniversary committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, in her speech, said that the entire series of activities of the 14th Anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara was carried out online due to the Covid-19 pandemic and several activities were carried out offline by implementing health protocols such as ribbon cutting and community service. The 14th Anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, carries the theme “Our Contribution.” This theme means that the entire academic community of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU, alumni, and students have a joint commitment to make the best contribution to the alma mater by continuing to develop self-quality and make achievements on a national or international scale.
The 14th anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was also enlivened by the screening of the video 'Rayuan Pulau Kelapa', which is a collaboration of all alumni of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the USU batch 1969-2013 located throughout Indonesia which can be seen on the Instagram account of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy Anniversary.
With this 14th Anniversary celebration, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU is committed in the future to continue to innovate to improve the achievements of the three pillars of higher education through action programs and community service that are more targeted, increase innovation in the discovery of new drugs and contribute to building superior human resources in the health sector, especially pharmacy.
