USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS – Lecturers at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of North Sumatra carried out community service together with the International Islamic University Malaysia on Friday (13/9). This service activity includes the formation of a Smoking Cessation (quitting smoking) cadre of companions. In line with the mQUIT@MASJID Program with the theme, "Revitalize Your Spirit and Health at The Mosque: Quit Smoking & Vaping Today."
The service team is chaired by Marianne, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt. with members Emil Salim, S.Farm., M.Sc., Ph.D., Apt.; Lia Laila, S.Farm., M.Sc., Apt.; apt. Ade Sri Rohani, S.Farm., M.Farm.; apt. Nurul Suci S.Farm., M.Farm.; and Prof. Dr. Mohamad Haniki bin Nik Mohamed who is also the Leader of IIUM Sustainable Smokefree Campus Community Flagship.
There are 2 dosage forms of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) with the brand name Nicorette, one of which is the Invisi transdermal patch to help overcome the desire to smoke, and the other nicorette is icy mint 2mg gum, nicotine (as reinate) a drug in the form of gum that helps to stop smoking.
