On Wednesday, September 6, 2017, the Diploma III Program in Pharmaceutical and Food Analysis at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a scientific seminar titled "Competence and Professionalism of Associate Experts in Pharmaceutical and Food Analysis at the Diploma III Program, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara." The seminar took place in the Auditorium on the 1st Floor of the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU.
The seminar was opened by Marianne, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU. In her speech, she expressed her hope that this activity would continue to be held annually to equip students with the necessary skills for entering the workforce.
Popi Patilaya, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt., the Head of the Diploma III Program in Pharmaceutical and Food Analysis, stated that this event is a regular program held at the beginning of each academic year, featuring different speakers. The seminar is crucial in broadening students' knowledge to help them compete with other Diploma III graduates in securing job opportunities.

This one-day seminar invited speakers from pharmaceutical institutions, including Drs. Yulius Sacramento Tarigan, M.M., Apt., from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), and Drs. Herry Rustanto, Apt., from PT. Kimia Farma Tbk., Medan Plant. In addition to students, the event was also attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU.
