Medan – On Wednesday, September 6, 2017, the Diploma III Program in Pharmaceutical and Food Analysis, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a scientific seminar with the theme "Competency and Professionalism of Associate Experts in Pharmaceutical and Food Analysis" at the 1st Floor Hall of the Faculty of Pharmacy, USU.

The seminar was officially opened by Maranne, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU. In her opening remarks, she expressed her hope that this activity would continue to be held annually to equip students with the necessary knowledge to face the workforce.

Popi Patilaya, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt., Head of the Diploma III Program in Pharmaceutical and Food Analysis, emphasized that this seminar is a routine program held at the beginning of each academic year with different speakers each time. This activity plays a crucial role in enhancing students' knowledge, enabling them to compete with graduates from other Diploma III Pharmacy Academies for job opportunities.

The one-day seminar featured speakers from pharmaceutical institutions, including:

  • Drs. Yulius Sacramento Tarigan, MM., Apt. (National Agency for Drug and Food Control (BPOM))

  • Drs. Herry Rustanto, Apt. (PT Kimia Farma Tbk., Medan Plant)

In addition to students, the seminar was also attended by teaching staff from the Faculty of Pharmacy, USU.
