Medan, August 18, 2026 — In celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), participated in various competitions organized by Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU in the series of activities provided an opportunity to strengthen togetherness, foster sportsmanship, and build a sense of camaraderie among the USU academic community. The spirit of independence was expressed through various activities emphasizing teamwork, creativity, and solidarity.
In the event, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU participated in five competition categories: volleyball, table tennis, terompah (team clogs), cheer competition, and a bazaar booth.
The volleyball and table tennis competitions provided opportunities for participants to demonstrate their skills, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship. Meanwhile, the terompah competition created a lively atmosphere while testing participants’ teamwork and coordination.
Beyond sports, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU also showcased its creativity through the cheer competition. With enthusiasm and strong teamwork, the participants gave their best performance while representing the Faculty of Pharmacy in the festive celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day.

In addition, through its bazaar booth, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU showcased the creativity and potential of its academic community. The booth served as a platform to introduce various products while fostering interaction and togetherness among members of the academic community.
The Faculty of Pharmacy USU’s participation in the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence celebrations also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. The activities also contribute to SDG 4: Quality Education, particularly through the development of character and non-academic skills, including sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, creativity, responsibility, and communication skills. Furthermore, the spirit of togetherness and cooperation reflected in the various competitions contributes to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by creating an inclusive space for interaction among members of the academic community from different units and backgrounds.
Through its active participation in the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence celebrations, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU demonstrates its commitment to fostering togetherness and a strong sense of community within USU.
