The meeting took place in a warm and collaborative atmosphere. In her remarks, Prof. apt. Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D. expressed her appreciation for the STIKSAM delegation’s visit. She emphasized that collaboration among higher education institutions is a strategic step in advancing education, research, and community service. The synergy established through such partnerships is expected to generate innovations that contribute positively to the advancement of knowledge and healthcare services.
Meanwhile, Chair of STIKSAM, apt. Supomo, S.Si., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from the leadership of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU. He expressed hope that the partnership would serve as the starting point for various collaborative programs benefiting both institutions, particularly in improving academic quality, developing human resources, and implementing the Three Pillars of Higher Education.
To expand the scope of academic collaboration, the meeting also discussed opportunities for lecturers from both institutions to serve as course instructors. This collaboration is expected to enrich learning materials, facilitate the exchange of academic expertise and experience, and improve the quality of the learning process for students at both institutions.
During the discussion session, the two institutions explored various opportunities for collaboration through the RKI (Riset Kolaborasi Indonesia / Indonesian Collaborative Research) scheme, which allows private-sector partners to be involved as funding partners. The Master’s Program toward Doctoral Education for Excellent Bachelor’s Graduates (PMDSU) was also discussed. As part of this initiative, four STIKSAM lecturers have been proposed to participate in the program.
The discussion also addressed efforts to strengthen lecturers’ capacity in scientific article writing and the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU), which have become shared targets. In addition, both institutions exchanged experiences regarding higher education governance, quality assurance, study program development, and human resource capacity building. The discussion also covered the management of professional practice programs, including the monitoring of off-island Pharmacist Professional Education Program (PKPA) activities.
As a concrete expression of their commitment to strengthening the partnership, the meeting continued with the signing of an Implementation Arrangement (IA) between the Faculty of Pharmacy USU and STIKSAM. The agreement was signed by Prof. apt. Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU, and apt. Supomo, S.Si., M.Si., Chair of STIKSAM. The signing marked the beginning of concrete efforts by both institutions to develop collaborative programs in education, research, and community service, while opening opportunities for broader synergy to improve the quality of pharmaceutical education.
The event concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photo, symbolizing the strengthening of the relationship between the Faculty of Pharmacy USU and STIKSAM.
The Faculty of Pharmacy USU remains committed to expanding its partnership network with higher education institutions at both national and international levels as part of its efforts to advance higher education that is excellent, innovative, and impactful.
