USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS - The USU Faculty of Pharmacy held an International Seminar on Nanomedicine on Saturday (26/11) online through the Zoom Meeting platform at 08.00-15.00 WIB. This seminar is open to the public, with an online registration process.
In its implementation, the seminar was attended by the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si, and Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Sc, Apt who gave welcoming remarks at the beginning of the seminar.
This international seminar presented experts in their fields as Invited Speakers, including:
1. Dr. Adam WG Alani (Oregon State University, College of Pharmacy, Portland, Oregon, USA) with his material “Nanotherapeutics platforms for Image-guided surgery and cancer treatment.”
2. Wan Nazatul Shima binti Shahidan (School of Dental Sciences, USM Malaysia) with the material “Extracellular vesicles: Recent advances from exosome research towards nanomedicine applications.”
3. Dr. Yu Ishima (Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokushima, Japan) on “Drug delivery for refractory cancer therapy via an Endogenous Albumin Transport system”
4. Ismail Tuncer DEGIM (Faculty of Pharmacy, Biruni University, Turkey) with the material “Nanoworld in Medicine and Pharmacy: Recent Developments”
5. Hakim Bangun, Apt (Nanomedicine Center of Innovation, Universitas Sumatera Utara) with the material “Nanosuspension: A promising drug delivery system of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to reduce the effects of local irritation and improve efficacy.”
The development of nanomedicine underlies the implementation of this international seminar related to nanomedicine. We hope to follow its development, starting with the materials presented by the invited speakers.
