USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS – The USU Faculty of Pharmacy previously held the 2024 International Summer Course of Pharmacy (ISCP) on 5-8 August 2024, and the follow-up event was held on 7-11 September 2024. Different from the previous series of activities in August which were online lecture activities, This September's activities are offline activities consisting of field trips, assignment presentations, workshops on making pharmaceutical preparations, gala dinners, Medan city tours and farewell events.

The series of ISCP offline activities began with a field trip to Samosir on 7-8 September 2024. ISCP participants visited Socfindo, then continued their journey to Siantar, Parapat, then also crossed to Ambarita. Apart from that, you also visit Batu Hoda Beach and Huta Sialagan.

After returning from the field trip, the participants were required to make a presentation on the assignment that had been previously given, namely on 9 September 2024. The next day, 10 September 2024, participants took part in a workshop held at the Artsari Gallery located on Jl Tri Dharma No 48 Medan by Prof. Ir. Lilis Sukeksi, M.Sc., Ph.D. The workshops carried out were making solid soap, deodorant and lipstick.

The excitement doesn't stop here, because this series of ISCP activities also presents a Gala Dinner for the participants. Held from 17.30 WIB until around 21.00 WIB. The Gala Dinner was also attended by the USU FF Dean, who gave a welcoming speech, Mrs. Khairunnisa, S.Sc., M.Pharm., Ph.D., Apt. officially opened the gala dinner, and ulos were also given. At the ISCP Gala Dinner there were many performances from each ISCP participating country. Starting with a performance from the host himself, namely Traditional Batak Dance by Kevin and the team. There is also Traditional Malaysian Dance Performance by Faiz and team, Traditional Thai Dance Performance by Bin and team, and Traditional Chinese Song by Sharon and team.

The next day we are scheduled to do a one day tour of Medan on September 11 2024. The tour will be to the North Sumatra State Museum, Maimun Palace, Grand Mosque, Tjong A Fie, and enjoying the typical Medan durian.

At the end of the ISCP activities, a farewell event was held which featured video recaps of workshops, field trips and city tours that had been carried out previously. Apart from that, there was also an awarding session, handing over certificates to ISCP participants before the official closing of ISCP.

ISCP 2024 activities have proceeded smoothly and according to the scheduled plans. See you at ISCP 2025, definitely with different excitement.
