Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) is a forum for university leaders to introduce new students to their new environment during the transition from high school to university. Openly, democratically, and upholding humanist principles, the implementation of PKKMB 2022 was held for three days, from September 5-7, 2022.
The first day of PKKMB was held thoroughly at the USU Mini Stadium. All new students from each faculty were gathered at the USU Mini Stadium to participate in a series of activities organized by the university. Starting at 06.00 WIB, the new students gathered and followed the entire series of activities until noon. Then, proceed with the mobilization of students to their respective faculties.
The mobilization of students to the faculty was carried out by PEMA, which was then followed by a welcoming activity for new students at the faculty, which the Dean of USU Pharmacy officially opened. With the slogan “Stepping Beyond Borders,” after the welcoming ceremony was officially opened, it was followed by a presentation of material about national life, the higher education system in Indonesia, and an explanation of academic and non-academic services at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Similarly, on the second day, the new students were given material about higher education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and campus life in the new normal era. Environmental awareness and healthy campus materials were also provided for the implementation of ZI WBK in the campus environment. Followed by the delivery of academic / student regulations and curriculum, as well as material about the library and motivation in improving achievement. The introduction of organizations is also on the agenda on this second day of activities.
The new students were also scheduled for a laboratory tour. PEMA divided the students into small groups and led them to tour and visit all laboratories in the Faculty of Pharmacy. The laboratories were introduced by PEMA, the head of laboratories, lab assistants, and student assistants.
On the last day, the new students were still presented with material on developing student character as intellectuals and anti-violence, Core Values material for the digital era, and material from PSI regarding eduroam. After all the material was delivered, the activity continued with an agenda from PEMA until the afternoon. On this last day, one female student and one male student were crowned and given the title of Kation and Anion 2022, who can be said to be the king and queen of this PKKMB Faculty of Pharmacy 2022 activity. The Vice Dean I and Head of the USU Undergraduate Program in Pharmacy handed over prizes. After the entire series of activities was completed, the closing was carried out by the Dean of the USU Pharmacy again.
