PUBLIC RELATIONS, FACULTY OF PHARMACY, USU – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted community service activities by providing entrepreneurship training on the production of herbal salt cosmetics at SMAN 1 Perbaungan on Thursday, September 21, 2023. This activity was led by Apt. Chemayanti Surbakti, S.Farm., M.Si., along with three team members: Apt. Nur Aira Juwita, S.Farm., M.Si.; Apt. T. Ismanelly Hanum, S.Farm., M.Si.; and Apt. Muhammad Fauzan Lubis, S.Farm., M.Farm. Several pharmacy bachelor’s degree students, including Febrika Bulvia Putri Br Lubis, Nanda Aprianty, Firstarina Jauzah Haya, Christine Ruth, and Andrew Nicolas, also participated in the event.
During the activity, the students of SMAN 1 Perbaungan were taught about natural ingredients that can be used in body care products, including their benefits and practical applications. The students were also introduced to entrepreneurial aspects, such as budget planning, product pricing, and marketing. Additionally, they were guided in designing and producing their own bath salt cosmetic products. The community service team hoped that the students would apply the knowledge gained and develop into skilled and insightful young entrepreneurs.
The headmaster of SMAN 1 Perbaungan, Riadi, S.Pd., M.AP., expressed his gratitude to the Faculty of Pharmacy team for selecting his school as the venue for this activity. He appreciated the various theories and practices provided, which enriched the students' knowledge of bath salt cosmetics production.
The community service team expressed their sincere gratitude for the support provided by the principal, teachers, and students of SMAN 1 Perbaungan, who facilitated and warmly welcomed the Faculty of Pharmacy team throughout the program.
