PUBLIC RELATIONS FACULTY OF PHARMACY – The lecture faculty of pharmacy at USU conducted community services on September 7 and October 2, 2023, by giving workshops on how to make essential oils and their applications using natural plants. This activity was led by apt. Yade Metri Permata, S.Farm., M.Si., and several members, such as dari apt. Hari Ronaldo Tanjung, M.Sc., apt. Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D., and apt. Lisda Rimayani Nasution, S.Farm., M.Si. Several students of Bachelor Pharmacy were also involved in this agenda, for instance, Harun Akbar, Surya Perdana Gultom, Feby Aisha A. Harahap, Fadli Mubaroq Nasution, and Cynthia Alleviona.
In this activity, there were around 50 teenagers trained directly by the faculty of pharmacy at USU in the making of essential oils using plant materials. This is an effort to increase youth creativity in developing natural materials into products that have a high selling value and can be marketed. Through these community services, the team hopes that every young person who has been trained can adopt every instruction given, therefore becoming a skilled and insightful entrepreneur in the future.
The head of Social Department Sumatera Utara, Mr. Ivan Khairuzan, SE., M.AP, really appreciates the pharmacy USU team for selecting his office to receive various trainings on making essential oils and their applications.
The entire services team expressed their gratitude for the support of the North Sumatera Provincial Social Service, which facilitated this activity, and welcomed the arrival of the USU team.
