Medan, August 9, 2026 — A total of 96 students of the Pharmacy Professional Education Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) participated in the National Competency Examination for Pharmacy Professional Education Students (UKOMNAS PDPA) using the Computer-Based Test (CBT) method on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
The UKOMNAS PDPA is an important stage that must be completed by pharmacy professional program students as part of the competency evaluation process before entering professional practice as pharmaceutical personnel. Through this examination, students are assessed on their knowledge, skills, and ability to apply pharmaceutical competencies professionally.
A total of 96 students from the Faculty of Pharmacy USU took the examination using the computer-based method. The implementation of CBT supports a more structured, effective, and objective examination process and is aligned with developments in professional education assessment systems in the healthcare sector.
The Faculty of Pharmacy USU supports the implementation of the UKOMNAS PDPA as part of its commitment to preparing graduates with the competencies and professionalism required by pharmacy professional education standards. Students are expected to complete the examination with adequate preparation, integrity, and responsibility.
The participation of 96 pharmacy professional program students in the UKOMNAS PDPA also reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy USU’s efforts to ensure that future pharmacists possess adequate competencies to provide pharmaceutical services to the community. These competencies serve as an important foundation for improving the quality of healthcare services and ensuring patient safety.
Through the implementation of the UKOMNAS PDPA, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU hopes that all students will achieve the best possible results and continue their professional journey as competent and ethical pharmacists who can contribute to improving public health.
The participation of Pharmacy Professional Education Program students from the Faculty of Pharmacy USU in the UKOMNAS PDPA also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being and SDG 4: Quality Education.
Through SDG 4, this activity contributes to improving the quality of professional education through a standardized competency assessment process. Meanwhile, SDG 3 is reflected in the effort to produce competent and professional future healthcare workers, particularly pharmacists, who can contribute to delivering quality healthcare services to the community.
Thus, the participation of 96 Pharmacy Professional Education Program students from the Faculty of Pharmacy USU in the UKOMNAS PDPA is not only part of the education and competency certification process but also a strategic step in preparing qualified healthcare professionals and supporting sustainable health development.
