HUMAS FARMASI USU — The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara officially inaugurated the Faculty Deans, the Director of the Graduate School, the Faculty Vice Deans, as well as the Vice Director of the Graduate School in a solemn ceremony held at the USU Student Center on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 08:00 WIB until completion. This inauguration marks an important part of the university’s agenda to strengthen institutional governance and ensure leadership continuity across various units.
The inauguration ceremony was led directly by the Rector of USU and attended by university leaders, deans, lecturers, administrative staff, members of the academic community, as well as the families of the inaugurated officials. The presence of family members added an emotional and proud atmosphere to the occasion, reflecting moral support for the new responsibilities entrusted to the appointees.

Among those officially inaugurated were the leadership of the Faculty of Pharmacy: Prof. Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D., Apt as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. She will be accompanied by Dr. Apt. Dadang Irfan Husori, S.Si., M.Sc., as Vice Dean I, Dr. Aminah Dalimunthe, S.Si., M.Si., Apt as Vice Dean II, and Dr. Apt. Henny Sri Wahyuni, S.Farm., M.Si as Vice Dean III. In addition, the Rector also inaugurated the Director of the Graduate School along with the Vice Director, who will carry out strategic roles in advancing postgraduate education within the university.
This inauguration was carried out as part of leadership regeneration efforts and to enhance the effectiveness of implementing the three pillars of higher education (tridharma): education, research, and community service. The leadership transition is expected to bring renewed energy in addressing global challenges, including developments in science, technology, and increasingly dynamic societal needs.

The inauguration proceeded formally and solemnly, beginning with the oath-taking of the appointed officials, followed by the signing of official documents and the conferment of insignia by the Rector. Each stage of the ceremony was conducted in an orderly manner as a symbol of responsibility and commitment to the duties ahead.
In his remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of integrity, professionalism, and collaboration in managing the university. He also stated that the newly appointed officials must be adaptive, innovative, and responsive leaders, capable of building synergy both internally and externally. Furthermore, the Rector expressed hope that the new leadership would drive improvements in educational quality, strengthen research culture and scientific publication, and expand partnerships with various institutions at both national and international levels. These efforts are considered essential to enhance the university’s global competitiveness.

This inauguration is also closely linked to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the context of higher education, strong and visionary leadership is key to supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) through improved learning quality and access to education. In addition, contributions in the health sector through the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences support SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
On the other hand, strengthening research and innovation produced by faculties and the Graduate School contributes to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Meanwhile, the expansion of institutional partnerships plays an important role in supporting SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), fostering sustainable and impactful collaborations.
With the inauguration of these new officials, it is expected that Universitas Sumatera Utara will further strengthen its role as a leading, innovative higher education institution that contributes meaningfully to societal development and national progress.
