The Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universitas Sumatera Utara organized The 2nd International Conference on Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research (2nd ICPCR) on 22 November 2018 at Grandhika Hotel Medan.
This seminar aims to gather researchers, scientists, experts, academics and students who are interested in disseminating, reporting and sharing their experiences, innovations, ideas, research results in the field of pharmaceutical and clinical research.
The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked.(O.G.), Sp.O.G.(K.) (Vice Rector II of USU), Prof. Dr. Masfria, M.S., Apt. (Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy USU), and invited Key Note Speakers from several countries including Assist. Prof. Panupong Puttarak, Ph.D. (Prince of Songkla University - Thailand), Assoc. Prof. Mohd. Makmor Bakry (University Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia), Dr. Zarina Thasneem Zainudeen (Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia) and Prof. Dr. Jansen Silalahi, M.App.Sc., Apt. (University of North Sumatra, Indonesia).
Prof. Dra. Azizah Nasuion, M.Sc., Apt., Ph.D., as the head of the committee in her speech. On behalf of the organizing committee, our deepest appreciation goes to the keynote speakers, Assist. Prof. Panupong Puttarak, Pharm.D., Ph.D. from Prince of Songkla University (Thailand), Prof. Dr. Jansen Silalahi, M.App.Sc., Apt. from Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan (Indonesia), Assoc. Dr. Mohd. Moh. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Makmor Bakry from Universitas Kebangsaan Malaysia (Malaysia), and Dr. Zarina Thasneem Zainudeen from Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia), for contributions in this conference to share ideas in the development of Herbal Medicine in Pharmaceutical and Clinical Sciences to improve healthcare. On this occasion, we would also like to thank the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and the Indonesian Pharmacists Association for the support and cooperation given to make this conference a success. Special appreciation also goes to all the organizing committees of ICPCR 2018 for their active contribution to making this conference a success. Finally, we hope all participants will enjoy this conference and have a great time during your visit to Medan.
Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara represented by Vice Rector II Prof. Dr. dr. M Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked (OG).,Sp.OG (K), in his speech, I am pleased to see that at present, the scope of pharmacy is widely expanded in exploring natural resources, developing new methods, and utilizing technology to create better pharmaceutical products that meet the requirements of social needs such as higher effectiveness and lower side effects of pharmaceutical products. Therefore, we believe that treatments can be more effective and improve patients' Health Care.
Therefore, I hope that this seminar will build better relationships among scientists, academic staff, practitioners and participants in sharing pharmacy inspired knowledge and fostering better care in the field of pharmacy.
According to Prof. Dr. Masfria, M.S., Apt. In recent years, we have witnessed tremendous progress of herbal medicines in pharmaceutical and clinical research in developed and developing countries. It is related to health economic progress and scientists continue to make great contributions to achieve sustainable healthcare. I hope all scientists and researchers will share ideas on important developments and innovations in pharmaceutical and clinical research during this conference to benefit participants from Indonesia as well as other countries.
As Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, I would like to encourage faculty members to take this opportunity to network with excellent scientists, especially in the pharmaceutical and clinical fields. I believe this network will encourage development and help us to achieve the vision of the future faculty as one of the leading higher education institutions in pharmacy in our country.
