USU FACULTY OF PHARMACY PR — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a celebration for the 19th Anniversary of the Faculty and the 56th Anniversary of the Pharmacy Department on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the 2nd Floor Hall of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy. The event, which took place from 08.30 WIB until completion, was filled with a festive and grateful atmosphere, in line with this year’s celebration theme: “Alumni Berdaya, Almamater Jaya” (Empowered Alumni, Glorious Alma Mater).

The celebration opened with remarks from faculty leadership, emphasizing that the long journey of the Faculty and the Pharmacy Department cannot be separated from the contributions of all elements, especially the alumni who are now active in various sectors of health, industry, research, and government. The theme “Alumni Berdaya, Almamater Jaya” was chosen as a form of appreciation for alumni contributions as well as a reminder that the advancement of the alma mater will continue to resonate through the achievements of its graduates.

The event was also attended by lecturers, staff, students, alumni from various cohorts, and external partners who have supported the faculty’s development. The activities began with a reflection on the historical journey of the Pharmacy Department since its establishment 56 years ago, including its institutional development into the current Faculty of Pharmacy, now entering its 19th year. The screening of documentary videos highlighting institutional milestones, academic achievements, and alumni accomplishments enhanced the sense of pride among participants.

As part of the celebration series, the faculty also presented awards to lecturers, staff, and students who demonstrated dedication and achievements over the past year. In addition, a special alumni session was held to share inspiring experiences regarding their contributions to the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare services, and research. This session further emphasized that alumni empowerment is a key strength that continues to elevate the reputation of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy.

Students also played an active role in enlivening the event through artistic performances, musical presentations, and collaborative activities that strengthened intergenerational connections. Beyond a celebratory moment, this anniversary event also served as a forum for dialogue to determine the direction of the faculty’s future development, including efforts to improve the quality of education, research, and community service.

This anniversary celebration aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
