USU Pharmacy PR – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), participated in the Asia World Muslim Summit 2025 held on March 13–15, 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This international event brought together academics, researchers, practitioners, and leaders from various Muslim countries in Asia to discuss, share experiences, and establish strategic collaborations across different fields.
The USU Faculty of Pharmacy delegation consisted of university leaders, lecturers, and researchers actively engaged in the development of pharmaceutical education and research. They joined hundreds of delegates from universities, research institutions, health organizations, and governments across Asian Muslim countries.
The participation of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy in the Asia World Muslim Summit 2025 focused on strengthening the role of Muslim academics in sustainable development, particularly in the fields of health, education, and innovation. The delegation presented leading research findings, engaged in panel discussions, and explored opportunities for international collaboration in pharmacy, public health, and the development of traditional medicine and pharmaceutical technology based on local wisdom.
The three-day event featured international seminars, discussion forums, research presentation sessions, and networking opportunities. Hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the summit served as a key gathering point for academics and professionals across Asia, symbolizing cross-country and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The involvement of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy highlighted the university’s commitment to expanding its global network, strengthening its academic reputation, and contributing to addressing public health challenges in Muslim countries. The summit also opened doors for collaborative research, academic exchanges, and curriculum development based on international standards.
Delegates from the USU Faculty of Pharmacy actively participated in plenary sessions and group discussions addressing global health issues, the development of traditional and modern medicines, and sustainable pharmacy education. In addition, bilateral meetings were held with partner universities from Malaysia, Pakistan, and the Middle East to explore cooperation in clinical pharmacy research, joint publications, and academic mobility programs.

By taking part in the Asia World Muslim Summit 2025, the USU Faculty of Pharmacy further established its position as a higher education institution committed to international collaboration, innovation, and making tangible contributions toward sustainable development in health and education.
