USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS - USU Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers carried out community service activities by providing Training in Making Pharmaceutical Preparations Based on Iler Plants (Coleus scutellarioides) as a wound medicine at SMA Negeri 1 Perbaungan on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. This activity was led by apt. Nur Aira Juwita, S.Farm., M.Si., has members consisting of apt. Chemayanti Surbakti, S.Farm., M.Si., apt. T. Ismanelly Hanum, S.Si., M.Si., and apt. Hafid Syahputra, S.Farm., M.Si. Several students of the USU Undergraduate Program in Pharmacy also participated in this community service activity, namely Kevin Gabriel Panjaitan, Wahrianto, and Alex Insandus Sihotang.

In this activity, students of SMA Negeri 1 Perbaungan were taught about the benefits of the iler plant and the skills to make simplisia and gel with the basic ingredients of the iler plant as a wound medicine. The students were also taught to understand aspects of entrepreneurship, such as budget planning, product pricing, and marketing in order to utilize the pharmaceutical preparations made into economically valuable materials. Through this community service activity, the entire service team hopes that each student will adopt every instruction given so that skilled and insightful young entrepreneurs can be formed in the future environment. 

The principal of SMAN 1 Perbaungan, Riadi, S.Pd., M.A.P really appreciated the USU Pharmacy Community Service team for choosing his school as a location for service to teach various theories and practices in producing gel preparations of iler plants as wound medicines.
