The Undergraduate Program in Pharmacy (PSSF) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was established in 1969. Currently, the program has been equipped with 9 comfortable laboratories that greatly support the learning process intensively and effectively.
Our commitment to becoming a center of higher education that excels academically and can compete at the global level is reflected in the provision of regular classes for domestic students and international classes for participants from abroad. Supported by outstanding individuals with national teaching certifications, our teaching staff are able to guide students to be ready to work in various fields of pharmacy, including in pharmacies, hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, food and cosmetics, drug distribution, and also in the government sector.

Goals & Targets
- To provide quality pharmacy graduates with the character following the values of being God-fearing, Innovative, and Strong (BINTANG).
- To graduate pharmacy graduates who excel in the field of pharmaceutical science and technology as well as clinical and community pharmacy.
- To prepare graduates who can apply, develop, and/or enrich the repertoire of pharmaceutical science in accordance with technological advances based on lifelong education.
- To deliver research by conducting chemical, biological, and pharmacological trials on drugs, medicinal materials, natural medicines, cosmetics, food and beverages, and clinical and community pharmacies.
- To conduct research using natural resources to develop traditional medicine and improve medicinal raw materials.
- To perform community service based on pharmaceutical science to contribute to improving the health and welfare of the community.
