USU is organizing the 2024/2025 Short Semester for undergraduate and vocational students, including grading policies and full schedules. This program allows students to retake courses and accelerate their studies according to set regulations.
Referring to the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 3 of 2020 on National Standards for Higher Education, Article 16 Paragraph (3), an academic year consists of 2 (two) semesters, and universities may organize a short semester. The short semester is implemented under the following conditions:
The short semester applies to students in undergraduate and vocational programs.
The program includes lectures, assessments, Midterm Exams (UTS), and Final Exams (UAS).
Students who are active in the even semester of the current academic year are eligible for the short semester.
Undergraduate and vocational students can retake courses in which they earned an E, D, C, or C+ grade.
The courses taken must not be courses with laboratory or practicum requirements and/or mandatory assignments.
Students taking courses in the short semester are not allowed to enroll in the Field Work Practice (KKN) course.
Short semester classes can be conducted if the number of participants in a class is at least 10 (ten) students and no more than 25 (twenty-five) students, except for courses being eliminated due to curriculum revision.
Students mentioned in point (7) may not drop courses already taken and must settle the short semester fees.
The short semester fee is set at IDR 200,000 (two hundred thousand rupiah) per credit per student.
The short semester includes at least 16 (sixteen) class meetings, and the maximum student load is 9 (nine) credits.

Announcement and offering of courses for the Short Semester in the Faculty: June 23–24, 2025
Course Registration (KRS): June 23–24, 2025
Verification of Course Quota by PSI: June 25–27, 2025
Verification of Course Quota by Faculty: June 28–30, 2025
Payment of UKT for the Short Semester: June 28–July 1, 2025
Lectures: July 2–August 2, 2025
Midterm Exams (UTS): July 15–17, 2025
Final Exams (UAS): August 5–7, 2025
Final Exam Evaluation: August 6–9, 2025
SIA Data Entry: August 2025
