I am the first Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science student with a veterinary background. Although I did not have much basic pharmaceutical knowledge, the study program could direct me to take courses and research related to veterinary science. I think the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science at the USU Faculty of Pharmacy can be the best choice for prospective doctoral students from non-pharmaceutical medical sciences.

Hello, my name is Linda Margata. I am an alumnus of the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science in 2016. I entered this doctoral program through the Master to Doctoral Program for Outstanding Scholars (PMDSU) batch II scholarship in 2015. At that time, only six lecturers at USU got the position as promoters for PMDSU students, one of whom was a lecturer in the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science, Prof. Dr. apt. Jansen Silalahi, M.App.Sc. who was my promoter at the time. During my studies at the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science, I gained much knowledge from promoters, co-promoters, and other lecturers involved in my dissertation. The lecturers at the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science are experts in their respective fields, so students have the opportunity to learn and ask more profound questions about the dissertation research they are doing, both through lectures and guidance from the lecturers. The USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science also has adequate facilities for doctoral students to run lectures comfortably and conduct their dissertation research. These facilities are in the form of comfortable lecture rooms and special rooms for doctoral students who are not undergoing lectures so that students can work on their dissertation assignments while within the USU Faculty of Pharmacy environment where all these rooms are equipped with internet facilities. The staff in the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science are also very helpful in managing the files needed for each stage of the graduation exam, starting from qualifications, colloquiums, 1st to 3rd results seminars, and closed to open dissertation exams. Even after graduating, the staff actively provides information on seminar procurement and file management, such as legalizing certificates and job vacancies. Carrying out knowledge in the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science provided valuable experience in a very thick academic atmosphere, so I had the motivation to complete my dissertation well and on time.

I, Gabena Indrayani Dalimunthe, am an alumnus of the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science in 2019. I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to continue my studies to the doctoral level at the USU Faculty of Pharmacy after completing my master's degree in 2010 at the same place. Why did I choose to continue my doctoral degree in the same place? I thought, why go far if a school of excellent quality is nearby? One advantage of the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science is the interesting programs presented in this study program. The program is also taught by lecturers with outstanding academic specifications and competencies in teaching and writing Scopus-indexed journals. In addition, this study program often holds webinars, guest lectures, and even visiting lecturers from overseas universities. This study program is supported by a management system with a friendly and informative admin in academic matters related to lecture information, pre-colloquium registration, colloquium, results seminar, and trial. The requirements needed for all these things are neatly and clearly organized so as not to confuse students. The admin in this study program is constantly updated in conveying information through social media and sending it to student groups so that not a single piece of information is missed. Until now, I have been following developments in the pharmacy study program through social media and remain active in the group even though I have completed my studies. I see new changes, such as the presence of lecturers from several renowned universities such as Oregon State University, International Islamic University Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and many more. I have high hopes for the USU Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science to continue to develop and create breakthroughs in the academic world and certainly be able to achieve "Excellent" accreditation so that it can produce quality graduates who are able to compete in the workplace later.
