Public Relations of Pharmacy USU—Faculty of Pharmacy USU held the activity of accompanying the production of RPS and SAP by inviting Mrs. Ely Hayati Nasution, S.S., M.Si., as the secretary of the Institute for Curriculum and Learning Innovation USU. This meeting was organised at the Meeting Room, second floor, faculty of pharmacy USU, on Friday, August 25, 2023.
This meeting aims to give assistance directly to all lectures at the faculty of pharmacy at USU to make RPS and SAP based on CPL and the Case Method. The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, apt. Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D., said in her opening speech that this training event expects to bring development and innovation relating to learning methods based on the case method at the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU.
Assisting in the making of RPS and SAP expects to motivate all lectures to be more active in preparing the topic at class by increasing the learning activities of students. Besides, this case method is expected to increase the student’s ability to understand concepts related to theory and practice and also to improve the student's ability to use critical thinking in solving problems in society.
In this method, lectures will guide students step by step to learn the case method and give an assessment evaluation based on the results of the student’s case; lectures will also give some advice on how to apply this case in daily life.
This method has been appropriate to SN-Dikti at 2020, which states that every college should grade students by having criteria such as good attitude, knowledge, skill, and specific skills. These criteria are the standards for colleges to graduate these students. On the other hand, the curriculum at the university has applied the OBE (outcome-based education) method, which considers the implementation starting from management, planning, and evaluating the system that has been used.
This agenda will be continued for drafting the modules until it can improve for a better learning method at the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU and also increase the critical thinking of every student.
