As an appreciation for teaching staff who have retired, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universitas Sumatera Utara held a Purna Bakti Lecturer event. The event was held on December 13, 2017, at the 2nd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Masfria, M.S., Apt. Vice Dean I Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. Vice Dean II Mrs. Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D., Apt. Vice Dean III Mrs. Marianne, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., Head of Study Programs within the Faculty of Pharmacy USU and Head of Department as well as lecturers and staff of the academic community within the Faculty of Pharmacy USU.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy stated that with the retirement of 5 lecturers, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU felt a loss and would feel a shortage of teaching staff, especially now that the number of Pharmacy students is increasing. We also give high appreciation to all the teaching staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU who have worked together to provide the best service to students in the teaching and learning process. Currently, the shortage of teaching staff is helped by the existence of prospective teaching staff who have not been appointed as civil servants but are willing to devote themselves to the Faculty of Pharmacy USU as permanent non-civil servant lecturers. We hope that the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara can pay attention to prospective lecturers of the Faculty of Pharmacy for civil servants for the formation of the upcoming Faculty of Pharmacy so that the number of lecturers can be increased.

We say, “Congratulations on your retirement,” and we pray that you are always in good health. Hopefully, the implementation of this retirement event will serve as a vehicle to strengthen the relationship between lecturers and the academic community within the Faculty of Pharmacy USU.
Alhamdulillah, the Retirement of Lecturers of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara went smoothly, the event was filled with a short video profile of lecturers who retired followed by a few remarks of impressions and messages and stories about their experiences while serving at the Faculty of Pharmacy USU. In this event, mementos were also handed over to lecturers who were retiring and shaking hands between lecturers and the academic community who were present.
