Medan 6 August 2026 - The UKOMNAS PDPA using the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) method was conducted from July 25–27, 2026, at various pharmacist professional education institutions across Indonesia. On this occasion, Dr. apt. Henny Sri Wahyuni, S.Farm., M.Si. served as a Central Supervisor at Universitas Tjut Nyak Dhien, Medan, while Dr. apt. Dadang Irfan Husori, S.Si., M.Sc. served as a Central Supervisor at Universitas Sari Mutiara Indonesia, Medan.
The appointment as Central Supervisors represents both a mark of trust and recognition of the competence and professionalism of Faculty of Pharmacy USU lecturers in overseeing the implementation of the national competency examination. Central Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that all stages of the examination are conducted in accordance with established operational standards, allowing the assessment process to be carried out objectively, transparently, fairly, and accountably.
The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is an assessment instrument designed to comprehensively evaluate the competencies of prospective pharmacists. Through a series of structured examination stations, participants are assessed on various aspects, including clinical skills, professional communication, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making in pharmaceutical practice. This method plays an important role in ensuring that graduates of the Pharmacist Professional Education Program possess competencies that meet professional standards and the needs of healthcare services.
The involvement of Faculty of Pharmacy USU lecturers as Central Supervisors represents a concrete manifestation of the institution’s commitment to maintaining the quality of pharmacist professional education at the national level. In addition to ensuring the quality of UKOMNAS PDPA implementation, this assignment further strengthens the Faculty of Pharmacy USU’s role in supporting a credible and nationally standardized competency assessment system.
The active participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU in the implementation of UKOMNAS PDPA is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, through efforts to produce competent and professional healthcare personnel, and SDG 4: Quality Education, through strengthening quality assurance systems in professional education. Furthermore, collaboration among various higher education institutions in conducting the national competency examination supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening synergy in improving the quality of education and healthcare services in Indonesia.
Through active participation in various academic and professional activities at the national level, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing excellent, innovative, and competitive pharmaceutical education. This commitment is expected to contribute to producing competent and ethical pharmacists who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to improving healthcare services and advancing sustainable development in Indonesia.
