USU FACULTY OF PHARMACY PR — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), once again achieved an academic milestone through the success of four of its lecturers who passed the 2025 Batch 1 Lecturer Certification (Serdos). They are:

  1. Dr. Apt. Denny Satria, S.Farm., M.Si.

  2. Sony Eka Nugraha, S.Farm., M.Si., Apt.

  3. Rony Abdi Syahputra, S.Farm., M.Farm.

  4. Muhammad Fauzan Lubis, S.Farm., M.Farm., Apt.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers in improving the quality of higher education and teaching in the field of pharmacy.

The Lecturer Certification (Serdos) is a national program organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) to assess lecturers’ professional competencies in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: education, research, and community service. The success of the four Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers in the 2025 Batch 1 Certification indicates that they have met all academic, pedagogical, social, and professional criteria required in the certification process.

These four lecturers are active educators at the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, who have made significant contributions to education, research, and community service. Support from the faculty leadership, academic team, and USU’s human resources unit continues to encourage and facilitate lecturers to participate in the certification process sustainably.

The certification process was conducted online through the National Lecturer Certification System (Serdos) managed by the Directorate of Human Resources, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology. All stages — from portfolio assessment, administrative validation, to academic eligibility testing — were carried out in an integrated and transparent manner.

The four lecturers were officially declared as having passed the 2025 Batch 1 Certification after a thorough evaluation conducted during the first semester of the 2025 academic year. The official results were announced by Kemendikbudristek at the end of October 2025.

This accomplishment not only marks a personal achievement for the lecturers but also represents part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to:

  • Enhance educator professionalism and accountability.

  • Ensure nationally and internationally standardized higher education quality.

  • Support lecturer career development and institutional academic performance.

By having certified lecturers, the USU Faculty of Pharmacy further strengthens its position as a leading higher education institution in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and public health.

The certification process involved several stages, including:

  • Submission of lecturer portfolios through the Serdos Dikti system.

  • Assessment by evaluators on pedagogical, professional, personality, and social competencies.

  • Evaluation of academic performance and track record, including scientific publications, research innovation, and community service activities.

  • Administrative validation by the university and the ministry.

The certified lecturers have demonstrated high commitment to maintaining professional ethics, enriching teaching materials, and expanding the societal impact of pharmaceutical research.

This achievement also supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

SDG 4: Quality Education
With the increasing number of certified lecturers, the quality of learning at the Faculty of Pharmacy, USU, becomes more assured and focused on producing high-quality graduates.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Lecturer certification reflects the professionalism of academic personnel and contributes to the development of superior human resources in the health sector.

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Through research and innovation by certified lecturers, the faculty contributes to strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem in the pharmaceutical field in Indonesia.

The USU Faculty of Pharmacy extends its congratulations and best wishes to the lecturers who have successfully completed the certification. This achievement is expected to inspire the entire academic community to continue improving their competencies, broadening their insights, and contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical science and technology.

“Continue to inspire and bring pride to the USU Faculty of Pharmacy towards even greater achievements,” wrote the faculty leadership in its official message.
