Universitas Sumatera Utara and PT Kimia Farma Tbk have officially established a collaboration in the field of Pharmacy. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, by the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., and the Director of General Human Capital, Dharma Sahputra.
Held in the Rector’s Meeting Room/Senate Academic Room, 3rd Floor of the Central Administration Bureau Building, the MoU signing was witnessed by the Vice Rector III of USU; the Rector’s Expert Staff for Cooperation; the Head of Research, PKM, and Cooperation Bureau; deans at Universitas Sumatera Utara; Vice Deans I and III; Heads of Study Programs/Departments; and students of Universitas Sumatera Utara. From PT Kimia Farma Tbk., the event was attended by General Manager-Principal Expert 1 Corporate University, Hendra Farma Johar, M.Si., Apt., and the Secretary of the General Director, Vani.
In addition to the MoU signing, the event included a public lecture and a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The visit of PT Kimia Farma Tbk.’s team extended to Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, where they conducted a guest lecture, an FGD for collaboration agreements, and laboratory visits.
With the theme “Diversity Management in Pharma Business,” the guest lecture presented by General Manager Corporate University of PT Kimia Farma Tbk., Hendra Farma Johar, M.Si., Apt., aimed to provide insights on management in the field of Pharmacy.
The guest lecture was followed by an FGD discussing potential collaborations between the Faculty of Pharmacy, USU, and PT Kimia Farma Tbk. The session took place in the 2nd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Pharmacy from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and continued with laboratory visits after a lunch and prayer break.
The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, USU, expressed hope that this collaboration would bring significant benefits to both parties, especially in advancing knowledge in the field of Pharmacy.
