The USU Faculty of Pharmacy organized the International Summer Course of Pharmacy (ISCP) 2024 with the theme "Sustainability and Innovations in Natural Cosmetics," which was held online on August 5–8 and offline on September 7–11, 2024, involving students and lecturers from various countries.
USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS - The USU Faculty of Pharmacy held the International Summer Course of Pharmacy (ISCP) 2024 online on August 5–8, 2024 and offline on September 7–11, 2024. The ISCP activity was opened by Dr. Rudy Sofyan, S.S., M.Hum., and welcomed by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D., Apt.
ISCP is a program that accommodates the involvement of international students and lecturers to the Undergraduate Program in Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy as an effort to align the vision of the study program with the vision of the faculty, namely "Excellence and international standards".
The theme raised in this ISCP 2024 activity is Sustainability and Innovations in Natural Cosmetics. With the aim of discussing issues related to cosmetics and the utilization of natural ingredients as active ingredients in the manufacture of cosmetics.
Students who are registered as ISCP participants consist of domestic and foreign participants (Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Indonesia).
The series of ISCP activities consisted of 4 online days in the form of public lectures and 5 offline days in the form of workshops, field trips, and city tour fields. The lectures were delivered by local and international resource persons, including:

“Green Extraction and Enrichment of Bioactive Natural Products for Their Applications in Phytocosmetic and Aging Associated Diseases”
4. Dr. (Cand.) Dr. Ingrid Tania, M.Sc., (Herbs). (Indonesian Doctors Association for the Development of Traditional Medicine, Indonesia)
“Natural Compound as Cosmetic's Active Ingredient”
5. Dra. Mayagustina Andarini, M.Sc., Apt. (Food and Drug Supervisory Agency, Indonesia)
“Cosmetics Regulation”
6. Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Basyaruddin (LPPOM MUI North Sumatra, Indonesia)

In addition, participants will also get a field trip and Medan City tour experience at the next activity in September.
