Universitas Sumatera Utara organized the 2016 Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an Competition at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Auditorium from October 10–12, 2016. In this competition, students from the Faculty of Pharmacy achieved several accolades, including:
Second place in the Tartil Qur'an female category, won by Nindy Astika.
First runner-up in the Al-Qur'an Content Scientific Writing category, awarded to Aqila Syifa Rolbina, Elvi Syahrin, and Ayu Indah Lestari.
First place in the Musabaqah Fahmil Qur'an category, won by Zahratul Hayati, Nathania Jeni Aksari, and Hayatul Nufus.
Second place in the Musabaqah Syahril Qur'an category, achieved by Revi Septiani, Mukhlis Syahputra Pulungan, and Devi Aulia Rahmah.
Dr. Masfria, MS., Apt., the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, expressed her hopes in her speech that students would continue to improve their achievements in future Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an competitions at Universitas Sumatera Utara.
