PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS – The Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universitas Sumatera Utara has carried out the Open Session of the Doctoral Promotion Examination for the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 14.00 WIB, via Zoom Meeting.

This Open Session was chaired directly by the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, and participated by the Advisory Commission; Prof. Dr. Rosidah, M.Sc., Apt, as a promoter, Yuandani, M.Si., Ph.D., Apt., as co-promoter, Dr. Panal Sitorus, M.Sc., Apt., as Co-Promoter, and Examining Commission; Prof. Dr. Urip Harahap, Apt., Dr. Aminah Dalimunthe, M.Sc., Apt., Prof. Dr. Syafruddin Ilyas, M. The Promovenda of this Open Session was Mrs. Romauli Anna Teresia Marbun, with the dissertation titled "Study of the Immunomodulatory Effect of Ethanol Extract of Binara Herb (Artemisia vulgaris L.) in Vitro and In Vivo" and the Scientific Article titled "Immunomodulatory Effect of Artemisia vulgaris L. Ethanol Extract and Its Marker Compound on Antibody and Cytokine Release in Non-Immunosuppressed and Immunosuppressed Rats."
Promovenda's dissertation concludes that it is from the Binara Plant (Artemisia vulgaris L.), which is extracted through examination of laboratory equipment and testing carried out by determining secondary metabolites qualitatively and quantitatively, examining the immunomodulatory effects of the extract both in vitro and in vivo first before it becomes a traditional medicine, which can treat skin infections and hypertension.
We, the entire academic community of the Master's and Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, congratulate Dr. Romauli Anna Teresia Marbun, S.Farm., M.Sc., Apt. for her doctorate.
