The USU Faculty of Pharmacy welcomed a visit from Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI) to initiate cooperation in education, research, and community service. The visit supports MBKM implementation and aims to strengthen the quality of pharmaceutical education.
USU Faculty of Pharmacy Public Relations – As part of efforts to strengthen inter-university synergy, Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI) conducted an academic visit to the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) on Thursday, July 10, 2025. The event took place at the Faculty of Pharmacy USU in Medan.
The UMRI delegation consisted of leaders, lecturers, and staff from the Faculty of Pharmacy UMRI. They were warmly welcomed by the leadership, lecturers, and administrative staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU.
The purpose of the visit was to establish collaboration in the fields of education, research, and community service, as well as to discuss opportunities for curriculum alignment, internship programs, and human resource capacity development.
The event was held in the Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU. This visit is significant as part of the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program and to open up collaboration opportunities aimed at enhancing education quality and the competitiveness of pharmacy graduates.
The agenda began with welcoming remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU, followed by institutional profile presentations from both parties. The visit concluded with a discussion session and the signing of an initial memorandum of understanding for future collaboration.
This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
SDG 4: Quality Education, by increasing access to inclusive and high-quality higher education, and
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions in developing knowledge and human resources.
Through this visit, it is expected that a strong academic partnership will be established to support the advancement of pharmaceutical education in Indonesia.
