The USU Faculty of Pharmacy in collaboration with PT Medela Potentia Tbk held “Argon Goes to Campus” featuring guest lectures, free health services, and blood donation. This event highlights the synergy between industry and academia in supporting health, education, and students’ career readiness.

PHARMACY USU PR – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), together with PT Medela Potentia Tbk, successfully organized the event “Argon Goes to Campus.” This program featured guest lectures, free health services, and a blood donation activity designed to provide comprehensive benefits for students and the campus community.

The “Argon Goes to Campus” program combined three main activities:

  1. Guest lectures with two inspiring topics:

    • Public Speaking for Pharmacists by Mrs. Ruth, emphasizing the importance of communication skills for future pharmacists.

    • Career Forward by Mrs. Sylvana, providing students with career insights in the pharmaceutical field.

  2. Free health screenings including blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar checks.

  3. Blood donation, as a social action to support hospital blood supply needs.

This program was carried out through the collaboration of PT Medela Potentia Tbk and the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, with participants including students, lecturers, academic staff, and members of the wider community who attended on campus.

The event took place on Thursday, 18 September 2025, as a moment of tangible synergy between the industrial sector and higher education. All activities were held at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan.

This event aimed to provide students with non-academic skills (soft skills) such as public speaking and career planning, which are often essential before entering the workforce. In addition, free health services and blood donation served as forms of social contribution in line with community care.

The program was delivered in an interactive lecture format involving students directly, free health screenings by medical personnel, and blood donation with assistance from related health institutions.

“Argon Goes to Campus” directly contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being): increasing awareness and providing health services through free screenings and blood donation.

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education): providing additional education in the form of soft skills to support students’ future readiness.

  • SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): preparing students to face career opportunities in the pharmaceutical and health sectors.

  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): strengthening strategic partnerships between universities and the pharmaceutical industry.

Through this event, the USU Faculty of Pharmacy and PT Medela Potentia Tbk hope that students can gain additional skills, motivation, and awareness of the importance of health. More than that, the event is expected to strengthen relations between industry and academia in supporting sustainable health and education development in Indonesia.
