Thursday, 23 November 2017, was a historic day for the Diploma III Program in Pharmaceutical and Food Analyst of the Faculty of Pharmacy of USU, where on that day the Diploma III Program in Pharmaceutical and Food Analyst of the Faculty of Pharmacy of USU held an oath and pledge event for Diploma III Pharmaceutical and Food Analysts in 2017, which took place on the 2nd Floor Hall of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy Building. This event was for the first time held at the Faculty of Pharmacy of USU. Excitement colored the 45 candidates for Associate Expert who took the oath. This happiness was further increased by the presence of parents and guardians of students who were present to witness their sons and daughters stepping into the world of the Pharmacy Associate Expert profession.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Bustami Syam, M.S.M.E. (Vice Rector IV of USU), Prof. Dr. Masfria, M.S., Apt. (Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU), Popi Patilaya, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt. (Head of D-III Pharmacy and Food Analyst Department of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU), Chairperson of PAFI (Association of Indonesian Pharmacists) North Sumatra.

In addition to these leaders, the ceremony was also attended by several guests of honor, including the Head of the Regional Board of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association Cab. Medan City. Head of Health Office of North Sumatra Province, Head of Health Office of Medan City. 

The oath-taking was carried out by representatives of the North Sumatra Health Office, followed by all students, and accompanied by clergy. By taking this oath, it means that the participants have been declared experts, but to have the authority they must have a STRTTK (Pharmaceutical Technical Personnel Registration Certificate). In general, the event was solemn, smooth, and successful.
