USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS - The Class XXXV Pharmacist Oath Taking was held live on Saturday, (20/4) in the 2nd Floor Hall of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, and can be watched on the USU Faculty of Pharmacy YouTube. The Pharmacist Oath-taking activity was attended by all students whose Oath/Pledge was to be taken, the Dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy and the Deputy Deans, Head of the Study Program and Secretary of the Study Program, professors and lecturers within the USU Faculty of Pharmacy. Also present were Vice Chancellor III representing USU's Chancellor; Representative of the Advisory Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Representative of the Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Service, Head of the Medan Food and Drug Monitoring Center or their representative, Chair of the Regional Management of the North Sumatra Indonesian Pharmacists Association or their representative; Pharmacy, Hospital, PBF and Industrial Preceptor in North Sumatra and Java Island; Chairman of the University of Sumatra Pharmacy Alumni Association, spiritual leaders, and pharmacists who will take their oaths/promises.
Vice Chancellor III, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt. representing the Chancellor of USU in his speech emphasized that this event was not merely ceremonial, but rather the contents of the oath/promise which would later be recited must be lived. The profession of pharmacist is directly related to the soul, so skill and caution are required in carrying out this profession. He also reminded that the characteristic of those holding a professional degree is lifelong learning, so it is hoped that new pharmacists can increase their knowledge according to technological developments. As a pharmacist, you not only have to be able to provide information about drugs to the public, but you also have to be able to provide scientific information to doctors and other health workers about the use of a drug.
The session was chaired by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, apt. Khairunnisa, S.Sc., M.Pharm., Ph.D.
Delivered by the Head of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program, apt. Dadang Irfan Husori, S.Si., M.Sc. in the report:
- Number of students taking UKAI for the March 2024 period: 91 people
First Taker: 89 people
Retakers: 2 people
- FirstTaker graduates: 86 people
- First taker pass percentage: 96.62%
- Overall passing percentage: 94.50%
- Number of Oath Participants: 87 people
consisting of 46 people who are Muslim, 28 people who are Protestant Christians, 8 people who are Catholic Christians, and 5 people who are Buddhists.
- The highest academic achievement (GPA 4.00) was obtained by 45 people
- Highest UKMPPAI score: 89.5 in the name of Jonathan Tantowi
The reading of the new Pharmacist Oath/Promise was led by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy as chair of the session and attended by all new Pharmacists accompanied by clergy from every religion/belief. Next is the signing and submission of the pharmacist's oath and pharmacist's professional certificate.
The best alumni award from class XXXV pharmacist students by the Faculty of Pharmacy together with the Argon Group in the context of the Argon Award was given to apt. Jonathan Tantowi, S.Farm., who has shown dedication and achievement in studying the Pharmacist Profession.
Welcome remarks from the new Pharmacist represented by apt. Muhammad Riyandi Hidayat, S. Farm. Major said the speech from the alumni parent representatives. CZI Tardijon M. Panjaitan, SH.
apt. Nelly Murni, S.Sc., M.K.M representing the Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Service, in her speech said that pharmacists are required to continue to improve their competence in order to face competition in the era of digitalization 4.0. Be consistent in maintaining the dignity of the profession, carry out responsible pharmaceutical practices and maintain good relationships with other health professions. He appealed to new pharmacists to work according to professional standards and competency standards.
