The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, hosted The 2nd International Conference on Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research (2nd ICPCR) on November 22, 2018, in Medan. The event featured global experts sharing innovations in pharmaceutical and clinical research.
The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, organized The 2nd International Conference on Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research (2nd ICPCR) on November 22, 2018, at Grandhika Hotel, Medan.
This seminar aimed to bring together researchers, scientists, experts, academics, and students interested in disseminating, reporting, and sharing their experiences, innovations, ideas, and research findings in pharmaceutical and clinical research.
The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked.(O.G.), Sp.O.G.(K.) (Vice Rector II of USU), Prof. Dr. Masfria, M.S., Apt. (Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, USU), and invited keynote speakers from various countries, including Assist. Prof. Panupong Puttarak, Pharm.D., Ph.D. (Prince of Songkla University, Thailand), Assoc. Prof. Mohd. Makmor Bakry (Universitas Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia), Dr. Zarina Thasneem Zainudeen (Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia), and Prof. Dr. Jansen Silalahi, M.App.Sc., Apt. (Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia).
Prof. Dra. Azizah Nasution, M.Sc., Apt., Ph.D., as the Chairperson, expressed gratitude to the keynote speakers for their contributions in sharing ideas on herbal medicine development in pharmacy and clinical sciences to improve healthcare. She also extended her thanks to the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Indonesian Pharmacists Association for their support in making this event successful.
The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, represented by Vice Rector II, Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked.(O.G.), Sp.O.G.(K.), stated in his speech that the scope of pharmacy has broadened significantly, exploring natural resources, developing new methods, and leveraging technology to create better pharmaceutical products that are more effective and have fewer side effects.
The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, USU, Prof. Dr. Masfria, M.S., Apt., added that the progress of herbal medicine in pharmaceutical and clinical research has seen remarkable advancements in both developed and developing countries. She hopes this conference will serve as a platform for sharing ideas that drive innovation and development in pharmacy, benefiting participants globally.
