HUMAS FARMASI USU — Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), through its Faculty of Pharmacy, continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding academic insight and international collaboration by organizing the Top Scientist Webinar of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU.
The event features two international academics as speakers, Satirah Zainalabidin and Jalifah binti Latip from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Their presence highlights that the webinar not only involves domestic scholars but also international experts in the fields of science and pharmacy.
This webinar serves as an academic forum aimed at sharing knowledge and research experiences from leading scientists. It was held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 09:00 to 12:00 WIB. The event is part of the Faculty of Pharmacy’s efforts to enhance academic quality and research capacity.
The webinar was organized to provide global insights for students, lecturers, and researchers on the latest developments in biomedical science, toxicology, and chemistry. It also aims to strengthen international collaboration between Universitas Sumatera Utara and overseas institutions, such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
In terms of implementation, the webinar features presentations from each speaker followed by an interactive discussion session. Participants are given the opportunity to engage directly with the experts, enabling them to deepen their understanding and broaden their perspectives in scientific and pharmaceutical research.
The event also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing access to inclusive and high-quality global learning. Additionally, as the topics discussed are related to health and science, it contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by advancing knowledge that can improve public health outcomes.
Furthermore, the involvement of international speakers and the focus on research and innovation support SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by promoting innovative and applicable research. The webinar also strengthens cross-border collaboration in line with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cooperation between higher education institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Through this initiative, Universitas Sumatera Utara is expected to continue enhancing academic excellence, expanding international networks, and fostering innovation in the fields of pharmacy and science.
