Medan, August 8, 2026 — Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) actively contributed to the success of the 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (PIT IAI), held from August 6–8, 2026, at Hotel Santika Premiere Dyandra Medan. The scientific event carried the theme “One Health, One Pharmacy: Synergy for National Resilience.”
The involvement of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Pharmacy USU as part of the organizing committee represented the faculty’s contribution to supporting PIT IAI 2026 while strengthening synergy among educational institutions, professional organizations, practitioners, and various stakeholders in the health sector.
During PIT IAI 2026, lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmacy USU were involved in various organizational and committee responsibilities to support the smooth implementation of the event, from preparation to the execution of scientific activities. Their involvement played an important role in ensuring that the event was conducted in an orderly and professional manner and in accordance with its objectives.
In addition to lecturers, students from the Faculty of Pharmacy USU also had the opportunity to contribute directly as members of the organizing committee. Their involvement provided valuable experience in developing organizational and communication skills, teamwork, and professional attitudes.
The theme “One Health, One Pharmacy: Synergy for National Resilience” highlights the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in strengthening national health resilience. The One Health concept emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, while the pharmaceutical sector plays a strategic role in supporting a high-quality, sustainable, and responsive health system in addressing various health challenges.
PIT IAI 2026 served as an opportunity for pharmacists, academics, practitioners, students, and other stakeholders to expand their knowledge, exchange ideas, build professional networks, and discuss the latest developments in the pharmaceutical field. The participation and contribution of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU academic community in the organizing committee further strengthened the role of higher education institutions as strategic partners in the development of the pharmacy profession and pharmaceutical sciences.
With the spirit of “One Health, One Pharmacy,” the involvement of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU is expected to continue strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and professional organizations. Such synergy is an important step toward developing competent pharmaceutical human resources who can contribute to strengthening national health resilience.
This commitment also supports the achievement of the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, as the PIT IAI focuses primarily on the development of pharmaceutical sciences, healthcare services, and strengthening the role of pharmacists within the health system.
- SDG 4 – Quality Education, as the scientific meeting provides a platform for enhancing the knowledge, competencies, and professionalism of lecturers, students, and pharmaceutical professionals.
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration among the Faculty of Pharmacy USU, the Indonesian Pharmacists Association, academics, practitioners, students, and health-sector stakeholders.
- SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, through strengthening professional organizations, governance, integrity, and professionalism in the pharmaceutical sector.
