USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS – In an effort to expand its international network and strengthen the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of North Sumatra (USU) participated in an academic visit and community service (PKM) program at the University of Cyberjaya (UOC) and Hospital Kanselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) of the National University of Malaysia (UKM). The event took place from July 1 to 4, 2025, at the University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

This event is part of a series of programs to strengthen collaboration in pharmaceutical research, international community service, and capacity building for educators and students. The focus of the activities included scientific discussions, laboratory visits, exchanges of community service practices, and exploration of cross-institutional research collaborations.

The USU Faculty of Pharmacy delegation consisted of lecturers, researchers, and a community service team. They were received directly by the leadership and academic community of the University of Cyberjaya (UOC) as well as medical staff from UKM Hospital Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM).

The four-day event, from July 1 to 4, 2025, took place at the University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia. The event aimed to enhance strategic collaboration between higher education institutions in Southeast Asia, particularly in the fields of health and pharmacy, and to serve as a concrete step in supporting the internationalization of education and community service across borders.

The program began with an opening session and presentation of the institution's profile, followed by a tour of the laboratory facilities and teaching hospital. The event included academic discussions, research presentations, and a forum to explore ongoing research and community service collaborations.

This event contributed to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

• SDG 3: Healthy and Well-Being Lives, through increased collaboration in research and community service in the fields of pharmacy and public health.

• SDG 4: Quality Education, by supporting the exchange of knowledge, academic experience, and collaboration across universities.

• SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through building a network of international partnerships in higher education and research.

Through this collaboration, the USU Faculty of Pharmacy demonstrates its commitment to continue developing as an institution that actively builds global partnerships for the advancement of science and improving public welfare.
