The Master's and Doctoral Pharmacy Study Programs at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, successfully hosted a webinar on writing scientific articles for reputable international journals. This event supports student research publications to enhance the university's internationalization efforts.

Public Relations, Faculty of Pharmacy USU – The webinar on writing scientific articles for reputable international journals was held on Tuesday (21/6/22) from 08:30 AM to 11:00 AM WIB online.

The Master's and Doctoral Pharmacy Study Programs hosted the event and featured keynote speaker Firzan Nainu, S.Si., M.Biomed.Sc., Ph.D., Apt. (Head of the Pharmacy Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar), who has an H-Index of 14 and 70 published articles. The session was moderated by Lisda Rimayani Nasution, S.Farm., M.Si., Apt.

 

The webinar was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Vice Deans, Heads and Secretaries of the Master's and Doctoral Pharmacy Study Programs, lecturers, students from the Master’s and Doctoral in Pharmacy programs, and participants from various institutions across Indonesia.

 

Scientific articles are a mandatory output for students in the Master's and Doctoral Pharmacy Study Programs at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Publishing in international journals is essential to support the university's internationalization. A higher number of publications also contributes to an increased credit score in the university ranking assessment indicators.

 

 

During his presentation, the speaker stated, “Research results must be published as they are a means of communicating findings and building expertise and careers,” said Firzan Nainu, S.Si., M.Biomed.Sc., Ph.D., Apt.

 

The webinar also coincided with the inauguration of the Board of the Pharmacy Postgraduate Student Association for the 2022–2023 period, chaired by Wahyudi, S.Farm., M.Si., Apt. After the main event, a mentoring session was held for 36 Master's and Doctoral Pharmacy students who had completed their research.

 

The facilitators who guided the students during this session included Emil Salim, M.Sc., Ph.D., Apt.; Dr. Denny Satria, M.Si., Apt.; Sony Eka Nugraha, M.Si., Apt.; and Yuandani, S.Farm., M.Si., Ph.D., Apt.
