The Public Relations, Protocol, and Promotion Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has made efforts to enhance journalistic skills by organizing a Faculty PR Workshop with the theme “Journalism in Website Management” on Tuesday (March 22, 2022).
The workshop was held in the Academic Senate Room, 3rd Floor, Central Administration Bureau of USU, featuring a highly skilled speaker in the field of journalism, Drs. Nurhalim Tanjung, M.Ilkom, the Editor-in-Chief of GoSumut.com.
Participants of the workshop, comprising faculty PR teams, received materials covering theory, guidelines, and practical applications in journalism. This activity aligns with the main goal of the workshop, as conveyed by Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG)., Sp.OG(K) in his opening remarks: “This workshop is expected to enhance the abilities of faculty PR teams in publishing news on their respective faculty websites to achieve the goal of becoming a World Class University.”
By improving their skills in delivering faculty-related news, the PR teams are anticipated to attract stakeholders to collaborate or make it easier for the public to access information through the faculty websites.
