The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara conducted a reaccreditation site assessment for its Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical Science by LAM-PTKes, reinforcing its commitment to educational quality and the SDGs.

USU PHARMACY PR — In its efforts to maintain the quality of higher education and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted a Reaccreditation Site Assessment for the Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical Science from April 10 to 12, 2025, held offline at the Faculty of Pharmacy campus.

This site assessment was part of the reaccreditation process carried out by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes), aimed at evaluating the academic quality, governance, and sustainability of the Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical Science.

The assessment involved two assessors from LAM-PTKes, Prof. Dr. apt. T. N. Saifullah S., M.Si., and Prof. Dr. rer. nat. apt. Sophi Damayanti. They were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU, Prof. Dr. apt. Khairunnisa, M.Si., along with the faculty leadership, lecturers, and administrative staff. The assessment took place over three days, from April 10 to 12, 2025.

All assessment activities were conducted at the Faculty of Pharmacy campus in Medan, with on-site visits to educational facilities, laboratories, and other academic spaces.

This reaccreditation aims to ensure that the Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical Science meets the national quality standards set by LAM-PTKes. It also serves as a concrete step toward realizing SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by strengthening the institutional capacity of higher education.

The assessors carried out a series of verification and clarification activities related to the accreditation documents, as well as direct observations of the facilities. The process concluded with a feedback session that included both appreciation and strategic recommendations from the assessors.

Through this assessment, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara reaffirms its strong commitment to advancing educational quality and innovation in the field of pharmacy. The reaccreditation outcome is expected not only to enhance academic reputation but also to contribute significantly to sustainable development in the education and public health sectors.
