The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a handover ceremony for the Heads and Secretaries of its Study Programs for the 2026–2031 term, followed by the signing of performance contracts as a commitment to carrying out their responsibilities, fulfilling their duties, and achieving the performance targets set for their new leadership term. The event marked an important milestone in ensuring leadership continuity and strengthening academic governance within the Faculty of Pharmacy USU.

The handover ceremony was conducted as part of the faculty's leadership transition process. Through this orderly and sustainable succession, the Faculty reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encompassing education, research, and community service.

The ceremony began with the formal transfer of responsibilities from the previous office holders to the newly appointed Heads and Secretaries of the Study Programs for the 2026–2031 term. This was followed by the signing of performance contracts, reflecting the new leaders' commitment to carrying out their duties, achieving the established key performance indicators, and supporting the vision and mission of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara.

Through this leadership transition, the Faculty of Pharmacy USU expects its newly appointed leaders to strengthen effective, transparent, and accountable study program governance. The Heads and Secretaries of the Study Programs play a strategic role in developing adaptive curricula, enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, fostering a strong research culture, expanding institutional partnerships, and improving academic services for students and other stakeholders.

The signing of the performance contracts also symbolizes a shared commitment to cultivating a work culture centered on performance, professionalism, innovation, and collaboration. With clearly defined responsibilities and performance targets, each study program is expected to generate innovations that contribute to improving educational quality while enhancing the national and international competitiveness of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU.

The leadership of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU expressed its hope that the newly appointed Heads and Secretaries of the Study Programs will carry out their responsibilities with integrity, dedication, and a strong spirit of service. Synergy among the faculty leadership, study programs, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and institutional partners is expected to serve as the foundation for building an outstanding and sustainable system of institutional governance.

The handover ceremony and the signing of the performance contracts also reflect the Faculty's commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Strengthening leadership and improving the quality of higher education governance contribute to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting an excellent and sustainable academic system. The implementation of professional, transparent, and accountable governance supports SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), while the collaboration fostered among internal units and external partners contributes to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening education, research, and community engagement.

Through this leadership transition, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains optimistic about further enhancing its institutional governance, producing highly qualified and globally competitive graduates, advancing innovation in pharmaceutical sciences, and making meaningful contributions to healthcare development and national progress.
