FORMULATION: Forming the Marvellous Pharmacist Generation

 

USU's Pharmacy Public Relations - USU's Faculty of Pharmacy held the 2023 PKKMB for 3 days, starting from August 18–August 20, 2023. This activity took place in the hall of USU's Faculty of Pharmacy on the second floor with the theme "Formulation: Forming the Marvellous Pharmacist Generation" It is hoped that new students will become great and extraordinary pharmacy students during their studies.

The Dean of Pharmacy, apt. Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D., gave a speech at the opening PKKMB at the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU 2023. She said that "every new student must have the highest enthusiasm until the end of their study period and be bound in honour to the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU". The Dean of Pharmacy at USU also informed us that there were around nine laboratories at Pharmacy USU that each student would take, along with several assignments and reports while carrying out practicums and studies. Each student can report the obstacles that exist during study to their academic advisor in order to get the best solution when they encounter problems during the study period.

In opening the PKKMB in 2023, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy also introduced all of his assistants, starting with Deputy Deans I, II, and III, all Chairmans and Secretaries of Study Programmes, and all employees in the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU. This is intended so that new students can get to know the lecturers and staff on campus. The introduction process ended with taking pictures together between the dean teams, employees, and the new pharmacy students.

On the first and second days, the PKKMB at the Faculty of Pharmacy at USU was filled with a series of presentations delivered by pharmacy lecturers. The first presentation, entitled "Nation and State," was delivered by the Deputy Dean II of Pharmacy, apt. Hari Ronaldo Tanjung, S.Sc., M.Sc. This material is expected to inform new students' insights for understanding the life of the nation and state and protect them from the groups that are divisive in the life of the nation.

The second presentation, entitled "The System of Higher Education in Indonesia and Learning at USU," was delivered by Deputy Dean I of FF USU, Dr. Aminah Dalimunthe, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt., to provide information and insight to new students about the education system in Indonesia, especially in higher education, that they will live in during their studies.

The third presentation, "Higher Education in the Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Campus Life in the New Normal Era," was delivered by the Secretary of the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Programme, apt. Lia Laila, S. Farm. M.Sc., which conveys about campus life in the midst of existing technological advances and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fourth presentation was delivered by Apt. Hafid Syahputra, S. Farm., M.Sc., about environmental awareness and a healthy campus. This material will provide insight to new students regarding the formation of student character and building students' mental health during their study period. By delivering this material, students are expected to become individuals with more character, both on campus and in their daily lives.

The fifth presentation, filled in by apt. Muhammad Fauzan Lubis, S. Farm, and M. Farm, is entitled "Development of Student Character as Intellectuals and Anti-Violence. The rise in cases of demonstrations that led to anarchist actions encouraged the presenters to convey this topic so that new students could protect themselves from individuals and groups that cause conflict. Some of the applications that new students can make in dealing with this movement are forming intellectual individuals by avoiding actions that trigger violence.

The last presentation, about "Core Values of the Digital Age," was delivered by Apt. Lisda Rimayani, S. Farm., M.Si. This material relates to good and correct communication and manners within the USU Faculty of Pharmacy in an effort to form good ethics for students in the USU Pharmacy environment.

On the last day, all PKKMB participants carried out a healthy walk with the Chancellor of USU and all USU academics, with the starting point at the USU Mini Stadium. After that, all participants from all faculties returned to the Mini Stadium to carry out Literacy Movement activities, which continued at the Closing of the 2020 PKKMB by USU Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Sc.
