The Faculty of Pharmacy at USU held a PKM proposal mentoring session to equip students with quality proposal writing skills. This initiative supports SDG 4 and SDG 9 by fostering student-driven innovative ideas.
USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a mentoring session on the preparation of Student Creativity Program (PKM) proposals on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the 2nd Floor Meeting Room of the Faculty of Pharmacy. This event reflects the faculty’s support in enhancing students’ ability to write high-quality, innovative, and competitive proposals.
The mentoring aimed to guide students in understanding the mechanisms, structure, and strategies for drafting PKM proposals in accordance with national standards.
The event was attended by Pharmacy students from various study programs. Experienced lecturers in PKM supervision participated as speakers and facilitators during the session. The activity took place on May 14, 2025, at the 2nd Floor Meeting Room of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
This initiative was organized to increase student participation in PKM competitions held by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). Additionally, it supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by encouraging the emergence of solution-based ideas from students.
The event began with a presentation on the types of PKM, followed by technical guidance on proposal writing, group discussions, and a Q&A session. Students were also given the opportunity to directly consult their proposal ideas and drafts with the mentoring lecturers.
This activity is expected to generate outstanding proposals from USU’s Faculty of Pharmacy that can compete at both university and national levels. It also serves as a platform for students to develop their critical, creative, and solution-oriented thinking skills.
