The USU Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Pharmaceutical Science, in collaboration with Unhas Faculty of Pharmacy, held a National Webinar on September 10, 2025. The event discussed the integration of AI technology in pharmacy education and its relevance to job market needs.
PHARMACY USU PR – The Master’s and Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), organized a National Webinar entitled “Pharmacy Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Market Needs.” The event was held virtually via Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 10.00 to 12.00 WIB.
This National Webinar discussed how AI technology developments are transforming the landscape of pharmacy education and its relevance to labor market demands in the digital era. Experts and academics from both universities shared insights on the integration of AI in curricula, teaching methods, and graduate preparation to compete in today’s pharmaceutical industry.
The event was organized by the Master’s and Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science, Universitas Sumatera Utara, together with the Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University. Speakers included professors, pharmacy practitioners, and postgraduate students from both institutions.
The webinar was important to address the challenges of pharmacy education, which must quickly adapt to technological advances, particularly AI, while aligning graduate competencies with the needs of industry and the ever-evolving job market.
The event was conducted online with presentations, discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions between participants and speakers. Registration was carried out through the official link distributed by the committee.
This webinar supported several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – The collaboration between USU and Unhas exemplifies strategic partnerships among universities to enhance national education quality.
Head of the USU Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical Science, Dr. Ratna Sari, Apt., M.Si., stated: “This webinar is expected to broaden the insights of students and academics on how AI technology can become a strategic tool in pharmacy education while preparing graduates who are competent and ready to face the dynamic labor market.”
