USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS - The Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universitas Sumatera Utara welcomed the visit of the Directorate of Standardization of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics of the National Agency of Drug and Food Control on Friday (6/9) at the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy from 09.00 to 16.00 WIB.
There were 12 representatives from BPOM and 2 representatives from PT. Akar Rimba. The visit was opened by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D., Apt. and Vice Dean III, Marianne, S.Si., M.Si., Apt.
The purpose of the BPOM working visit to the USU Faculty of Pharmacy was material related to the application of nanomaterials in medicinal materials and their standardization which included: nanomaterial theory, the purpose of applying nanomaterials in natural medicines, the safety of applying nanomaterial technology in natural medicines, the process of standardizing the quality of natural medicines that apply nanomaterials, and examples of the application of nanomaterial technology in natural medicines. The material was delivered by Prof. Dr. Hakim Bangun, Apt.
Other lecturers who also presented material related to the results of research on natural nanomaterials include: Prof. Dr. Anayanti Arianto, M.Si., Apt., Dr. T. Ismanelly Hanum, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., and Imam Bagus Sumantri, S.Farm., M.Si., Apt.
In addition to the material presentation, BPOM also conducted a laboratory visit which was held in the afternoon after ishoma to the Research Laboratory and Nanomedicine Laboratory.
