The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara held a Webinar on Article Review Writing and Citation Techniques on September 8–9, 2021. The event, attended by 130 participants, featured expert speakers to enhance skills in writing article reviews and citation optimization.
In addition to research articles that report research findings, review articles discuss trends and developments in the research of other authors. Although review articles focus on reviewing others' research, they are highly valuable for those starting their research journey, such as master’s or doctoral students. This need inspired the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara to organize the Webinar on Article Review Writing and Citation Techniques.
This event aimed to enhance the knowledge of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as faculty members in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The Vice Rector III of Universitas Sumatera Utara, apt. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Z. Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., expressed in her opening speech that this training would help participants, both students and lecturers, write review articles more effectively and improve their citation skills for academic purposes.
The training was held over two days, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, and Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB, featuring different speakers each day.
Day 1: Prof. M. Basyuni, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D., a professor from the Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (H-Index 17), presented “Training on Article Citation Techniques and Optimizing the Use of Researcher Community to Enhance H-Index.”
Day 2: Prof. Dr. apt. Abdul Rohman, M.Si., a professor from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (H-Index 27), delivered material on “Writing Review Articles for Reputable Journals.”
