Oath Taking of Pharmacists from USU Faculty of Pharmacy Batch XXXII
USU PHARMACY PR- The Oath Taking of the Pharmacist Batch XXXII was held live on Saturday, (24/9) in the 2nd Floor Hall of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, and can be watched via YouTube of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy. The Pharmacist Oath Taking activity was attended by all students who will take their oaths / promises, the Dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy and the Vice Deans, the Head of the Study Program and the Secretary of the Study Program, professors, and lecturers in the USU Faculty of Pharmacy. Also present were Vice Rector III representing the USU Rector, Representative of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Representative of the Head of the Pharmaceutical Council, Representative of the Head of the Central Board of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association, Representative of the Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office, Head of the Medan Food and Drug Supervisory Center or his representative, Head of the Regional Board of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association of North Sumatra or his representative, Director of H. Adam Malik Medan Hospital or his representative, Representative of the Director of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association of North Sumatera, Director of RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan or his representative, Representative of the Director of RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan, Business Manager of PT Kimia Farma Apotek or his representative, clergy, and parents of new pharmacist candidates who will take their oath.
The procession was officially opened by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy, apt. Khairunnisa, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D. The reading of the Oath / Promise of the new pharmacist was led by the Head of the Pharmaceutical Council or his representative and followed by all new pharmacist candidates accompanied by clergy from each religion / belief.
Delivered by the Head of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program, apt. Dadang Irfan Husori, S.Si., M.Sc. in his report: - Number of First Taker Students who participated in UKAI July 2022 Period: 80 people - Number of Graduates: 73 people - Percentage of graduation: 91,25% - Number of Oath Participants: 80 people consisting of 50 Muslims, 19 Protestant Christians, 4 Catholic Christians, and 7 Buddhists. - Highest academic achievement (GPA 4.00) obtained by Wilsen Lianto - The highest competency exam score of 87.00 was obtained by Selvi Arini Hardiyanti.
After taking the oath/pledge of the Pharmacist, remarks from the new Pharmacist were represented by Apt. Khairul Anhar, S.Farm.
apt. Nelly Murni, S.Si., M.KM. representing the Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office, in her remarks said that pharmacists are not only required to provide comprehensive services, but also must be able to become leaders in the world of work in the pharmaceutical field. Pharmacists must be able to be good partners for other health workers and be able to explain how to use drugs. Be consistent in maintaining the dignity of the profession, practice responsible pharmacy, and maintain good relations with other health professionals.
apt. Dr. Agustama, M.Kes. appreciated the increase in the UKAI pass mark because this increase can show that graduates are getting better quality. He also explained to the new pharmacists that there are currently four documents to be received, two of which require an extension process every five years.
Representative of the Pharmaceutical Council, Dr. apt. Gunawan Widjaja, S.H., S.Farm., M.H., M.M., M.KM., M.A.R.S. in his speech said that currently the role of pharmacists by WHO is 9 stars of Pharmacist, where research is a very important part, but currently scientific publications have not become a mandatory aspect of SKP fulfillment by IAI. And entrepreneurship is also important as a look into the future, where the world of pharmacists in Indonesia will be taken.
Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si. representing the USU Rector emphasized that the role of pharmacists is not only to provide drug information to the public, but also to provide scientific information to doctors regarding the use of a drug. She also reminded the characteristics of professional degree holders, namely lifelong learning, so it is hoped that new pharmacists can increase knowledge according to technological developments.
