USU PHARMACY PUBLIC RELATIONS - The Community Service Department of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of North Sumatra held a WOJA (Workshop of Herbal Medicine) community service activity with the theme "Preservation of Indonesian Local Wisdom Herbal Medicine" on Saturday, (1/6) located at Pancasila Building, University of North Sumatra.

This activity was held as an effort to increase students' knowledge and skills in understanding and developing the potential of herbal medicine. Herbal medicine is one of Indonesia's cultural heritage which is very valuable and has many benefits. 

The speakers presented were Mr. Muhammad Fauzan Lubis, S. Farm., M. Farm., Apt. and Mrs. Nurul Suci, S. Farm., M. Farm., Apt. 

This workshop was attended not only by USU students, but also several students from other universities, one of which was PMM students from various universities outside North Sumatra. Where participants have the opportunity to gain knowledge and knowledge related to introducing herbal medicine directly from experts, how to safely process traditional medicine independently, and what traditional spices can be used as ingredients for making herbal medicine. 

Apart from providing knowledge, there is also the practice of making kencur rice herbal medicine which is carried out in groups. Apart from that, participants also got the opportunity to taste herbal medicine for free and get a guidebook on how to process herbal medicine well.

On one occasion, the person in charge of WOJA, Fadli Nasution explained, "This activity is one of the work programs held by the USU 2024 BEM FF Community Service Department, and this is the first time it has been held. However, it is hoped that this activity can become an annual activity that can be carried out again by the Community Service Department in the following years."
