Manager

Manager

In a pharmacist profession with a managerial approach, students will explore management theories and practices that are crucial in managing a pharmacy or pharmaceutical service unit. Inventory management theory is fundamental, ensuring proper and optimal drug availability. Efficient drug distribution management is also a concern, including distribution strategies that ensure drugs are properly delivered to patients. Financial aspects are also emphasized, enabling students to understand and manage the budget and finances of the pharmacy unit well. The Pareto concept is applied to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the management of pharmaceutical resources and services. Understanding the drug laws and regulations, code of ethics, and Indonesian pharmacist standards of practice is imperative in performing duties ethically and legally. In the context of industrial pharmaceutical management, students will understand the management strategies used in the pharmaceutical industry, including drug compounding and dispensing. This includes managing drug production, quality, and safety in the drug manufacturing process. Hospital and community pharmacy management is an important focus, preparing students to lead and manage drug procurement and distribution systems in hospitals and communities.
Consultant

As a consultant pharmacist, students will explore key aspects relevant to providing appropriate drug consultation and therapy to patients. They will learn the theory of drug therapy management, ensuring a deep understanding of drug use and optimal therapy recommendations. This includes managing medicines and therapies at an individualized level, taking into account the specific needs and characteristics of the patient. An understanding of traditional medicine is also a focus, enabling pharmacists to provide holistic recommendations and consider the use of traditional medicine in health management. The psychology of communication becomes an important element, helping pharmacists interact with patients with empathy, elicit important information, and provide well-understood explanations of recommended drugs and therapies. Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC) theory is taught to enhance interprofessional cooperation within the healthcare team, ensuring the pharmacist's role integrates effectively within the healthcare team. Pharmacy ethics and discipline are emphasized to ensure that drug consultation practice is conducted with integrity and high ethical standards, prioritizing patient safety and well-being. The integration of knowledge and understanding from these different areas enables pharmacists as consultants to provide appropriate drug recommendations, ensuring patients get the best care according to their individual needs.

An in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical services provides insight into the provision of useful and appropriate pharmaceutical services to patients. In addition, basic pharmaceutical research methodologies equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to design, conduct, and evaluate pharmaceutical research. The integration of knowledge and understanding from these various areas enables pharmacists as researchers to structure and execute research well, advance pharmaceutical science, and make significant contributions to drug development and the understanding of their use.

Caregiver

Pharmacists will focus their studies on healthcare and their role in guiding and treating patients holistically. They will study the theory of drug interactions, which is crucial to understanding how different drugs interact with each other in the patient's body, so as to provide the best advice on their use. An in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical service regulations will ensure that pharmacists adhere to applicable standards and rules in providing services to patients. Communication psychology will help pharmacists interact with patients more effectively, understand their needs, and provide appropriate support. Applied pharmacotherapy allows pharmacists to understand in depth the use of drugs in the treatment of specific diseases. The study of medication errors is essential to prevent and manage errors that may occur in the administration of drugs to patients. Knowledge of nutrasetics and herbal medicine will broaden pharmacists' horizons on holistic approaches to health, including supplements and natural remedies. By integrating these aspects, pharmacists in the 'Caregiver' discipline are prepared to provide optimal health care, serve as patient supervisors and advisors in health management, and ensure the safety and effectiveness of the medication administered. Their main responsibilities are to provide care and support to patients, ensure safe medication use, and improve the quality of life of patients through their role as caregivers.
