The Faculty of Pharmacy at USU hosted a guest lecture on "Pharmacists' Readiness for JKN and ASEAN Economic Community (MEA)" with Syahrial Panggabean, Director of PT. Kimia Farma Apotek. The event aimed to enhance students' understanding of global challenges and opportunities.
To welcome the 2017-2018 academic year, the Undergraduate Program of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara held a guest lecture in the Auditorium on the 2nd Floor of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Events like this are beneficial for expanding the knowledge and insights of new students. The event was enthusiastically received by students and faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The guest speaker for this event was Syahrial Panggabean, S.Si., Apt., Director of Service and Supply Chain at PT. Kimia Farma Apotek, who presented on the theme "Pharmacists' Readiness for the Impact of the National Health Insurance (JKN) and ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) on the Pharmacy Business."
Dr. Sumaiyah, M.Si., Apt., Head of the Undergraduate Program, stated in her opening remarks that this event would be held annually to broaden the knowledge and perspectives of students within the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Syahrial Panggabean, S.Si., Apt., as the speaker, explained that with the implementation of free trade or MEA, it is crucial to be aware of the competition risks arising from the influx of imported goods into Indonesia. This situation can threaten local industries as they compete with higher-quality foreign products. To face the MEA, we must seize opportunities and tackle challenges by fostering creativity and innovation in producing goods and services. This can ensure that domestic products and services remain competitive against foreign ones. Additionally, enhancing the quality of human resources (HR) and optimizing the utilization of natural resources (NR) are essential to maintaining Indonesia's position in the global free market.
At the end of the event, the Faculty of Pharmacy presented a token of appreciation in the form of a souvenir, which was handed over by the Head of the Undergraduate Program to Syahrial Panggabean, S.Si., Apt.
