USU Faculty of Pharmacy Witnesses the Destruction of Illegal Products as Part of the National Action for the Prevention of Certain Drugs Misuse HUMAS FAKULTAS FARMASI USU – As part of the National Action for the Prevention of the Misuse of Certain Drugs (OOT), the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), attended and witnessed the destruction of confiscated Certain Drugs (OOT), illegal cosmetics, food, and beverages conducted by the National Agency of Drug and Food Control Regional Office in Medan on May 26, 2026. 18 June 2026

USU Faculty of Pharmacy Lecturer Receives International Research Grant from Kyung Hee University, South Korea HUMAS FAKULTAS FARMASI USU – A proud achievement has once again been attained by the academic community of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Dr. Rony Abdi Syahputra, S.Farm., M.Farm., has successfully secured an International Research Grant from Kyung Hee University through the International Joint Research Type B 2025 scheme. 18 June 2026

Faculty of Pharmacy USU Student Wins Gold Medal at the 2026 PB FORKI Chairman’s Cup IV National Karate Championship HUMAS FARMASI USU – Another proud achievement has been made by a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Meiviona Zuhrina won a Gold Medal at the 2026 PB FORKI Chairman’s Cup IV National Karate Championship (Kejurnas Karate Piala Ketum PB FORKI IV 2026), held in Bandung from May 9–12, 2026. 18 June 2026

Faculty of Pharmacy USU Student Wins 3rd Place in the Patient Counseling Competition (PCC) PHARMACITO 2026 HUMAS FARMASI USU – More good news has come from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Helen, a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU, successfully won 3rd Place in the Patient Counseling Competition (PCC) PHARMACITO 2026, a competition that assesses pharmacy students’ abilities to provide patient counseling and education effectively, communicatively, and professionally. 18 June 2026

USU Master's and Doctoral Programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences Hold International Webinar on Green Innovation in Sustainable Phytomedicine Development HUMAS FARMASI USU – The Master's and Doctoral Programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized an international webinar entitled “Green Innovation in Phytomedicines: Berberine-Rich Extract as a Model of Sustainable Therapy” on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The online event featured international academician Muhammad Ajmal Shah, Ph.D., from Hazara University, Pakistan, as the keynote speaker. 18 June 2026

Faculty of Pharmacy Lecturer Receives Indonesian Collaborative Research Program (RKI) Grant for Antidiabetic Candidate Research HUMAS FARMASI USU – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara has once again achieved a remarkable accomplishment through the success of one of its lecturers, Emil Salim, S.Farm., M.Sc., Ph.D., Apt., in securing a grant from the Indonesian Collaborative Research Program (RKI). In this grant program, Emil Salim serves as the principal investigator for a research project entitled “Metabolomics of Lansium domesticum Varieties and Synthesis of Aurone Derivatives as Antidiabetic Candidates: In Silico, In Vitro, and In Vivo Studies.” 20 May 2026

Prof. Yuandani of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy Involved in National Collaborative Research on Obesity and Inflammation HUMAS FARMASI USU – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara has once again demonstrated its contribution to the advancement of national research through the involvement of one of its lecturers, Prof. Yuandani, S.Farm., M.Si., Ph.D., Apt., in the Indonesian Collaborative Research Program (RKI). In this program, Prof. Yuandani serves as a member of the research team in a study focusing on the development of natural product-based therapies for obesity and metabolic disorders. 20 May 2026
